OUR COMMITMENT

Our hotel has been committed for many years to operating responsibly and sustainably, with a wide range of initiatives supporting this mission. These efforts have earned us the EU Ecolabel certification since 2017 and the Legambiente Turismo certification in 2018. You can consult Le Calette’s environmental policy here.

ENHANCING THE ENVIRONMENT

Our commitment to sustainability begins with the materials that surround us: furnishings crafted from local sources, chosen to support our community and diminish their environmental impact. Energy from the sun – warming our water and lighting our spaces – allows us to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. We can move through the landscape thanks to electric golf carts, charging stations, and bicycles, which encourage a slower, more mindful way of exploring.

In our gardens, native plants flourish as an expression of Sicilian biodiversity, while aromatic herbs take centre stage in our cuisine. Here, we minimise waste and celebrate ingredients sourced from the land and sea that sustain us: the daily catch of local fishermen, the produce of the Madonie and Nebrodi, and the work of small-scale farmers and artisans. Our chefs visit them regularly, nurturing relationships that ensure quality and honour a shared respect for the territory.

Our commitment extends beyond internal procedures to embrace the natural environment that surrounds us – from our coastline to the land we rely on every day. Through ongoing dialogue with local partners, we support the conservation of fragile ecosystems and endangered species, including Slow Food presidia. We actively promote responsible fishing practices and initiatives that safeguard marine life, helping to preserve the long-term balance of our sea.
