Fine dining restaurant set on a lawn under the stars of Cefalù, featuring an open-plan kitchen and sweeping views of the sea, the Caldura sea stacks, and the Rocca. On cooler days, the experience is transferred to the elegant and panoramic dining room Rizz’i Mari. Since 2023, Cala Luna has been recommended by the MICHELIN Guide Italy.

the chef

Chef Dario Pandolfo studied at the prestigious ALMA International School of Italian Cuisine under the guidance Gualtiero Marchesi. His early career took him to some of Europe’s most celebrated restaurants, including Geranium*** , Vila Joya** , Terra** , and St. Hubertus*** in San Cassiano under Norbert Niederkofler.
Since 2022 Chef Pandolfo has been leading the kitchen at Cala Luna, crafting a fine dining experience that celebrates the very best of Sicilian gastronomy.

The cuisine of Chef Pandolfo is shaped by a journey that led him away from Sicily and back with a clear vision: to place local ingredients and the people behind them at the centre. His approach is essential and sincere, rooted in farmers, fishermen and artisans. Nature sets the rhythm through a short, transparent supply chain built on trust and ethics. Technique follows the ingredient, honouring its season and expressing each dish as a fragment of territory.

rizz'i mari

On cooler days, the experience moves to the elegant Rizz’i Mari dining room on the first floor of the main building. Here, an expressive Marrone open kitchen, the first of its kind in Sicily, allows guests to observe the brigade at work and, for those who wish, to take a seat at the chef’s tables directly in the kitchen.
In spring and autumn, this cream-toned space, adorned with porcelain, ceramics, glassware, and furniture inspired by the tables of Sicily’s historic noble families, offers an ideal setting for Chef Pandolfo’s creations.

The wine list pays homage to the two regions that have shaped Chef Pandolfo’s career: Sicily – a true “continent” of diverse terroirs – and the mountains of Alto Adige. Curated by our head sommelier, the selection guides guests through both iconic labels and unexpected discoveries: from the fresh, elegant wines of the Dolomites to natural Sicilian expressions from Etna and the smaller islands. A collection designed to echo the landscape-driven cuisine of Cala Luna and elevate every pairing.
